Goff - Matie Alexander

Wingate, July 10 - Mrs. Matie A. Goff, of Wingate died at the Wabash Valley sanitarium Frieday morning after a year's illness with a complication of ailments.  She was a native of Coal Creek Township, where she was born Aug 24, 1872, the daughter of George W. and Eliza Michael Alexander and she was married Dec 23, 1891 to Charles M. Goff.  She was a member of the Hillsdale Baptist Church and after its abandonment she joined the Elmdale Methodist Church.  She also belonged to the Ladies Aid and Home Economics club of Elmdale.  Surviving are her husband and five daughters, Mrs. Ward Graves of Terre Haute; Mrs. Gene Quick of Indianapolis; Mrs. Charles A. Simison of Romney; Mrs. Albert WOrks of Beech Grove and Mrs. Leland Ranch of Romney. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. SG Doss of Wingate; a brother, DA Alexander of Peru and seven granddaughters and one grandson. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made. - kbz
